Introduction

The two-year Master of Science program is run by the University of Oslo , with HiBu as a partner.

The program is open to candidates with a bachelor degree in any discipline within natural sciences or engineering. The program offers several opportunities to work with real life technology projects and also includes several opportunities for internships in companies. If you are looking for a program that combines academic life with practice - this is it.

Short description of the programme

The programme's main focus is the commercialisation of scientific research and new technology.

The aim of the programme is to educate entrepreneurs, innovators and managers who can lead and advice in the area of science-based innovation. This includes the Research and Development (R&D) and commercialisation processes of existing and newly established high-tech companies.

The programme trains the student in how to assess the commercial potential of research results, developing these into a product, and finally bringing the new technology to the market. Innovation is a complex and often chaotic process, the management of which requires special combinations of skills and expertise that crosses the boundaries of several academic disciplines.

The Master of Science in Innovation and Entrepreneurship addresses these needs by providing core courses in innovation theory, business development, management, strategy, finance and marketing along with two electives within science. In addition to the course-work, all students are required to complete an independent, 40-60 page thesis, and a 3-month executive internship in technology-based start-up companies abroad. As part of the training, students also participate in actual innovation projects.
