At first I was a bit hesitating by going because I´ve never been to a place like Beitostølen. I search online and found out that there were lots of different activities there.

I knew that those who decided to go would try cross country skiing together with Anne Kari and her husband Carsten. I am not a sporty person at all and Beitostølen, as I thought it was before comming there, was a place where you could be active and try out new challenges. However, at the time I needed a break from the studies and decided to go.

My first impression when I got there was "WOW" not only because of the landscape and view from our wonderful cabin but also from the nature and landscape that we passed through while driving to Beitostølen.

When we all decided to go cross country skiing the first day I was still a bit hesitating at the time because I was afraid that I could not keep up with the others when going out skiing because this was my first time ever trying anything like it. To be honest I really did not know what to expect when going to try cross country skiing but when Carsten prepared the skiies for all of us before going out skiing I must admit I got a little excited about going for the first time.

We all went cross country skiing together the first day. When we got out and up to the mountains where there was a better view to look at all the mountains I was so amazed of the beautiful view and the surroundings that I had to remind myself to breath because I got so excited that I almost forgot to inhale the fresh air. Also, I was really surprised how easy it actually was to go cross country skiing.

I must say that cross country skiing was really a perfect place to try skiing for beginners like me. However, some of the international students were really good at it and they went the 2.nd day to a place for more experienced people. I could of course not keep up with that but instead I went cross country skiing with some of the others students who were beginners just like me.

We went to a different place the 2.nd day and I must say the nature and landscape was so beautiful and amazing that words can really not explain how wonderful an experince it was.

I was so in to cross country skiing that I did not want to go out and try snowboarding or do any other kind of activity. I was so impressed about cross country skiing that eventhough it was my first time I can definately say now that it won't be my last time.

I am so glad that I went on this trip together with all the other students. We got closer to eachother and the experience I had was just that much better because I went with Carsten who was really experinced about going cross country skiing and who took us to places where I would never ever had to experince if it was not for him and Anne Kari.

I am truly happy for the time I spent in Beitostølen and if my family or friends are going to Norway in the future I would, without thinking about it twice, recommend Beitostølen as a destination to spend there holiday on.
