Impressed about teaching methods

Maria Chaves Moreno, 25 years old student from Spain had an opportunity to enroll at BUC for three months and work on a project within Mechanical Engineering field.

Coming to Norway

Maria: I chose to come to Norway because I have a great interest in Norwegian nature and culture. My decision was also motivated by BUC's department of technology in Kongsberg which offered me an opportunity to enroll and work on the project within my study field. Through my study at BUC I gained knowledge in the development of products, improved my skills in modeling and in English.

The study

Maria: During my study period at BUC I worked mainly on a project. I worked on my project in collaboration with Kongsberg Automotive, one of technology companies in Kongsberg. The project was every educative and impressive as I was lucky to visit the company and see the physical product the company was constructing.

I was impressed about the teaching methods; the curriculum is designed such that students are not stressed with academic work. Teacher-student relationship is informal thus the students do not feel pressured.

Activities

Maria: During my stay in Norway, I used to go on hiking in the forest. I admired the Norwegian nature and wildlife activities. I visited places of interest such as Oslo, Flåm, Bergen; the cities, towns and its surroundings are very attractive.

On my free time I also was visiting my classmates and friends.

The social life in Norway is very relaxed and serene. Norwegians are very open minded and are willing to help foreigners. Most of Norwegians speak English that makes it easy to communicate with them.

I think that it is a really great experience coming to Norway. I will definitely recommend BUC to other prospective students to apply and study in Norway.
