
Foreign students are admitted to universities and other institutions of higher education in Norway mainly through international programs and bilateral agreements with comparable institutions abroad.
Buskerud University College offers a wide range of courses in English to exchange students coming from partner institutions abroad.
Exchange/study abroad-students who are applying to study one or two semesters at Buskerud University College should apply through international office at their home institution.
Application form will be available through their international office or upon request through heiditk@hibu.no (for students studying at partner institutions ONLY!).

Application deadlines are 1st May (admission to autumn semester) or 1st November (admission to spring semester).
Student housing will be pre-booked for exchange/study abroad students as long as they apply before the deadline.

Nordic exchange-students (i.e. from Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Greenland and the Faroe Islands) may choose among courses in their subject area taught in the Norwegian language as well as the English taught courses.
There are no formal requirements for proficiency in the Norwegian language for Nordic applicants, but with reduced understanding of the Norwegian language they will not profit completely from lessons held in Norwegian.
Nordic citizens do not need a residence permit to study in Norway.
Exchange/ study abroad-students should apply through the international office at their home institution within 1st May for admission to autumn semester and 1st November for admission to spring semester.
As places are limited, failure to do so may result in no admission to the English taught programs.

To be eligible for admission to our undergraduate semester/top up programs in English, you must be enrolled as a student at one of our partner institutions.
You should also have fulfilled at least 60 ECTS or equivalent within the required field:
English: No formal criteria. We recommend a level of written/oral English equivalent to Level B (ALTE Can do Statements).
Transcript of records must be provided in English and passport copy should be officially certified.
Buskerud University College does not offer scholarships or other special programs for foreign students at the present time.

Each year BUC admits international students through collaboration with partner universities/colleges. BUC provides opportunities for exchange students from diverse countries to come to BUC and enroll in one or two semesters, and participate in the projects.
In spring semester 2011, 6 students namely, Julien Colarullo, Florian Spano, Alexis Barcelo, Yan Bua, Amandine Py and Celine Laugier from IUT Marseille Physics Department, France joined BUC for 3 months. They worked on the projects in the field of electronics.
