Admission

Foreign students are admitted to universities and other institutions of higher education in Norway mainly through international programs and bilateral agreements with comparable institutions abroad.

Exchange Students

Buskerud University College offers a wide range of courses in English to exchange students coming from partner institutions abroad.

Exchange/study abroad-students who are applying to study one or two semesters at Buskerud University College should apply through international office at their home institution.

Application form will be available through their international office or upon request through heiditk@hibu.no (for students studying at partner institutions ONLY!).

The following documents should be attached with the application form:

Application deadlines are 1st May (admission to autumn semester) or 1st November (admission to spring semester).

Student housing will be pre-booked for exchange/study abroad students as long as they apply before the deadline.

An overview of partner institutions can be found here

Nordic Students

Nordic exchange-students (i.e. from Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Greenland and the Faroe Islands) may choose among courses in their subject area taught in the Norwegian language as well as the English taught courses.

There are no formal requirements for proficiency in the Norwegian language for Nordic applicants, but with reduced understanding of the Norwegian language they will not profit completely from lessons held in Norwegian.

Nordic citizens do not need a residence permit to study in Norway.

Application Deadlines

Exchange/ study abroad-students should apply through the international office at their home institution within 1st May for admission to autumn semester and 1st November for admission to spring semester.

As places are limited, failure to do so may result in no admission to the English taught programs.

The application form is available upon request from heiditk@hibu.no or at the international office at your home institution.
